Mir Pace International empowers high school students to change lives through long-term global community building. Mir Pace's program goals are not only to introduce U.S. high school student volunteers to other cultures, but to also expose them to "poverty" at a level previously unknown to them. Subsequently, our young volunteers return home to the United States more appreciative of their own personal comforts and surroundings, profoundly gratified by having helped others less fortunate, and with the realization that they can make a positive difference in their community and in the world!Mir Pace is working in the US, Guatemala and Tanzania, E. Africa. All proceeds from the Paddle for Poverty will go directly toward our aid and development initiatives in the communities we serve.

"My trip to Guatemala with Mir Pace opened my eyes...it was amazing to see so much poverty amongst a million smiles and open hearts!"
Jenna Forest, 2008 April IHSM Volunteer
