Mir Pace International empowers high school students to change the lives of the poor and forgotten through long-term global community building. Not only do we introduce U.S. high school student volunteers to poverty and its tragic affects on so many populations, but we also develop an awareness of the profound and very positive impact our young teens can have in serving others. Our proudest achievement has been fostering a spirit of volunteerism that is being carried on into their adult lives through their commitments to local service agencies! All proceeds from the Paddle for Poverty will go directly toward our aid and development initiatives in the communities we serve.

"Traveling with Mir Pace was truly the best experience of my life... I got so enriched in the culture of Guatemala and it really opened my eyes and made me think hard. Mir Pace has also helped me decide that I want to be in the Peace Corps as an adult. My experience with Mir Pace was probably the most life-changing event that has happened to me and I will never ever forget it."
Helen Hunt, 2008 April IHSM Volunteer
